About the Opportunity

The role of the Account Manager is to focus on business development from new and existing clients in order to achieve both individual and team sales targets. The Account Manager will work directly with the Account Director to execute strategy.

The Account Manager will meet and exceed targets by opening up accounts with new clients and maintain existing relationships resulting in the renewal of campaigns and growth of the accounts within their team silo.

The key objective of the role is to manage and nurture the client base ensuring ‘customer delight’ is obtained in every instance. A consultative approach to selling is required and the Account Manager must be responsive to client requirements and requests at all times.

 

Accountabilities and Outputs

  • Develop a pipeline of opportunities for sales, which includes a mix of blue chip prospects and services, in line with the marketing strategy
  • Meet and exceed sales targets by focused account coverage
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients
  • Work alongside the Marketing and Client Delivery department to develop strategies and initiatives that maintain and increase sales from each client
  • Ensure consistent and timely communication of progress against targets to the Senior Account Director
  • Produce weekly / monthly pipeline / activity reports as required

 

Key Experience
Essential:

  • Minimum of 10 years sales experience, 5 of those years to be selling at a senior level
  • Be able to demonstrate previous experience of hitting sales targets
  • Strong track record in account management, development and the nurturing of long-term client relationships and being able to demonstrate year on year improved performance as skills develop
  • Have demonstrable experience of growing accounts from scratch
  • Demonstrate ability to win new business
  • Demonstrate an understanding of client requirement when setting up a new client relationship
  • Business to business experience
  • Blue chip client base
  • Contact level within client base at management level minimum

Highly desirable:

  • Service sector sales
  • Technology sector experience

 

 

Qualifications

  • Preferably educated to Graduate level or recognised equivalent
